Artist Statement:
Been thinking a lot about young people out there... teenagers and those in their 20s.
Dreams, ambitions, forming of self identity, sense of belonging, peer support and love... all somewhat compromised, put-on-hold, or living the online alternatives...💙❤
For this reason I feel inspired to create a series of intimate-scale watercolour portraits of icons in their youth. I'm interested in capturing their energy, vitality and the becoming of age vulnerabilities.
