March 17th to April 11th 2012

We are thrilled to feature a collection of recent paintings by Linlithgow's own Leon Hill in our March exhibition. Born in 1981 and schooled in Linlithgow, Leon is an Edinburgh based artist whose work in recent years has focused on the landscapes and shores around Scotland. After Leaving Linlithgow Academy in 1999 he went on to train at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2004 from the department of Drawing and Painting. Subsequently, in 2006 he started teaching in the Fine Art Department of Edinburgh’s Telford College. In 2010 he gained a Masters degree in Art History and since then he has been focused on painting, writing about, and teaching others art. Much of the body of work presented in this exhibition is based around the Lothians, and is captured through a mixture of acrylic studies and oil on canvas.

In anticipation that Spring, whilst on its way, will bring the odd grey day and overcast skies, A Dash of Colour is just what the doctor ordered! We will do our very best, with this show, to brighten even the darkest heart with lively colour and cheery work in all shapes and forms. Come along and see for yourself!
