All good wishes for a peaceful 2012
I know I say this often, but I really do have no idea where time goes - here we are at December 23rd and I struggle to think of what I have been doing to get here. Of course I do know - there were the school prelims, which involved an encounter with S3 which I will not forget in a hurry, there was the Book Festival, which was fantastic and appreciated by audience and authors alike, there has been the formation and launch of the Black Bitch as a charitable community magazine. Okay, so maybe what I lack is time to sit still and recognise all that has been done and that I need to breathe from time to time!
Elisabet had three of her Indian photographs selected for a Scottish Photographers exhibition which opened at the beginning of the month, and 2012 will see her participation in a major exhibition in Da Gadderie at Shetland Museum. Entitled Line of Connection (to indicate that the five artists met together through The Line) three artists from Sweden, Charmian Pollok from Aberfoyle and Elisabet. a Swede living in Scotland, will show a range of work from painting to printmaking, from photography to cast paper, which reflects life and experience of living in the North. It will be a great deal of work to co-ordinate and the logistics of Linlithgow, Aberfoyle, Sweden in various locations and Shetland - but what the hey, if we don't try we will never succeed. And - the exhibition is at the request of the gallery, so No was never going to be an option!
A little bit of self promotion goes a long way - and for The Line, we kick off our 18 th year of regular exhibitions with Miles and Giles, recent work by much loved Catherine Rayner - we look forward to seeing you all in January (the show opens on Saturday January 21st)
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful 2012.
