August 6 to 30 2011

It is a real privilege to welcome Ruth Nicol back to The Line after her very successful first year out of art college and the successful reception of her paintings both to celebrate the Clyde in regard to the new Museum of Transport, and the prestigious New Directions show in Edinburgh.

Leith in Winter is a series of paintings especially made for exhibition at The Line, and grow from Ruth's experience of December last year and the early part of this. The cold and dark, the travel problems and the treacherous conditions have been turned into work of striking impact, in which the dignity of the old town of Leith, the ambition of the new building and regeneration and development of the river have been combined.

Come along and see for yourself - you will not be disappointed!

We are delighted to bring to The Line work by Kerri Tilbury, recent jewellery graduate and West Lothian resident. For this exhibition Kerri's work is based around Turkish pattern and vessel forms and features a range of necklace, bracelet and earring designs in silver and gold. We are very pleased to be hosting one of her first solo exhibitions since leaving college, and we're sure you will find her work appealing.
